OrcaCon Covid-19 Policy

Current as of 01/06/2022 – Team OrcaCon has been working hard to ensure the safety of all our attendees, our guests, and our volunteer crew. OrcaCon is committed to hosting the safest possible event for attendees and exhibitors in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic and will follow all safety measures based on the latest guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and World Health Organization as well as Washington State Department of Health and King County.

In accordance with the Governor’s emergency proclamation and Department of Health rules we will require every person to wear a mask in our designated OrcaCon space.

We will be implementing a vaccination or negative COVID-19 test requirement for everyone at OrcaCon 2022.

For more information, you can review the Department of Health Covid info: https://www.doh.wa.gov/Emergencies/COVID19

Prior to entry we will require everyone to be masked, and we will require proof of a completed COVID-19 vaccination series or a negative COVID-19 PCR or antigen test. PCR test results must be within 72 hours and antigen test results must be within 24 hours.

Attendees, guests, exhibitors, and volunteers, along with hotel staff, are required to wear masks at all times in the Bellevue Hilton, with exceptions for brief periods when actively eating or drinking. This also includes the Food Truck areas, for safety of not just OrcaCon attendees, guests, and volunteers, but also for the Food Truck owners and staff, too.

If you have purchased badges and have questions or concerns about this requirement, you can contact the Executive Director at info@orcacon.org

What type of negative COVID test is acceptable as an alternative to proof of vaccination?
Any type of COVID-19 test administered by a testing provider can be used. Testing providers are required to use FDA-authorized or approved COVID-19 tests. The negative result must be within the past 72 hours.
Rapid tests used without the supervision of a testing provider will NOT be accepted. More information can be found here: https://kingcounty.gov/depts/health/covid-19/current-guidance/verify.aspx

What happens if I lose my mask?

OrcaCon will have plenty of free masks for you at the Info Booth and the OrcaCon Merch table.

What about sanitizer?

We will have hand sanitizer at every OrcaCon station (registration, game library admin desk, Info Booth, et al. We will also have a mini-size sanitizer you will be able to pick up for free at the OrcaCon Merch table. We will be taking donations to help cover the costs, but it’s not required.

How will social distancing work?

We have always looked to accessibility when planning OrcaCon, with allowing large rows and spacing between tables. It won’t affect that too much in the game rooms, as we already do plenty of social distancing as it is. We plan on removing and/or moving content around to make you feel safer in the spaces. This will also affect how registration works, so just look for the signs when you show up for the convention.

What is Hilton Hotel’s Covid policy?

You can review the safety steps they are taking with the hotel rooms and all their public spaces here: https://go.orcacon.org/3C67KHb

What if I have purchased multiple badges for my group?

Each person in your group must present their vaccination or test results to pick up their badge. You will not be able to pick up all the badges for your group without them present.

I do not agree with your policy. How do I get a refund?

You can email info@orcacon.org with your order/confirmation number and we will give you a full refund.
