OrcaCon Online Update

Greetings OrcaCon friends!

We are excited to give you an update to OrcaCon Online, along with information to help you navigate all that we are planning for the show!

First, a bit of old business.

With December 1st right around the corner, we’d like to remind you that you can log into Evenbrite and get your refund to your payment method, or receive a credit, which you can use for OrcaCon 2022. On December 1st, our team will give everyone a refund to credit, so if you’d like to receive the monetary refund, you have the month of November to request it. Just log into your account and go to your tickets; you’ll see the option for refunds. If you can’t find it, just email info@orcacon.org and let us know if you want a refund or credit and we’ll take care of it!

Next, the fun stuff! We will be doing our very best to foster the same community online that we have at our in-person shows. We will be coordinating scheduled games, open play games, panels & workshops, a merchant hall, and more! We have a few secrets left to share once they’re all sorted, but we do want to kick off registration and event submissions.

So, let’s go!

Convention Registration:

When we announced OrcaCon Online, we said that the show would be free. In most of the way, it will be! But, for us to have a solution for scheduled events, we do have to charge a slight fee.

If you are planning to only play pick up games, demos, or watch panels & workshops, you don’t need to register! You can just use the Tabletop Events site to keep a calendar when things are happening. You will only need to register on the site if you want to get a ticket to scheduled games. Let’s show you the site! https://tabletop.events/conventions/orcacon-online

Submitting games:

If you wish to run scheduled games, you can register and then you’ll have access to submit games. That’s board/card games, role-playing games, and more! You can submit as many as you wish, but we would also like to remind you of the content we will allow and will not allow.

Please read the following policies before submitting games or events:

Panels & Workshops:

All of our programming will be live or recorded on our Twitch Channel, with the videos living on our YouTube Channel after the show. Our Guests of Honor and Special Guests will have priority on the time slots they’d like for hosting panels & workshops. We will also be looking for industry professionals to submit them, too! Be sure to follow our Twitch and subscribe to our YouTube!

Submit your panels & workshops here: http://go.orcacon.org/PanelSubmissions Our Programming Manager will review your submissions and will reach out to let you know if we have accepted your panels. We are using only one Twitch channel, so we will have a limited amount of slots available.

Exhibitor Hall

With OrcaCon being a virtual show, we can open up our Exhibit Hall to so many more vendors! We aren’t charging to have your business or community listed, but we do verify that you are on board with our Mission Statement and our policies.

Please read the following policies before you submit your application for our Exhibitor Hall:

All the rest!

OrcaCon Merch

We are super excited to show off our new store! Visit us on TeePublic for t-shirts, hoodies, masks, and more. We will be adding more styles to the shop as we get closer to OrcaCon Online. And we are really excited to show off the new design from Valentine Barker for OrcaCon Online! Watch our socials for more merch updates. https://www.teepublic.com/user/orcacon

Discord

We will be coordinating the rest of the convention through our Discord. We will have areas set up to talk about games and find games to play. Join now, and get to know the community, so you’re ready to go for January when the convention launches! You can get right to our Discord here: http://go.orcacon.org/Discord

Be sure to read the rules and introduce yourself so our Mod Team can get you permissions to the whole chat.

Volunteering

As we get closer to the convention, we will be looking for more volunteers to help facilitate games in the Discord, and answer questions that attendees might have during the show. We will send out more messaging when the volunteer application opens up.

We are all looking forward to seeing you in January for OrcaCon Online!
